Product Name: Para-tulle (Chlorhexidine Acetate)

Overview/Description: Para-tulle is a sterile, medicated paraffin gauze (tulle gras) dressing impregnated with Chlorhexidine Acetate. It serves as an antiseptic primary wound contact layer, designed to provide a barrier against infection while maintaining a moist environment that promotes faster healing. Its non-adherent properties ensure that the dressing does not stick to the wound surface.

Key Features:

  • Antiseptic Action: Contains 0.4% to 6 % w/w Chlorhexidine Acetate, a broad-spectrum antimicrobial agent that is effective against a wide variety of Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria.
  • Non-Adherent: The paraffin coating prevents the dressing from adhering to the wound bed, allowing for trauma-free removal and minimizing pain during dressing changes.
  • Open-Weave Structure: The gauze is designed with an open-weave pattern that allows wound exudate to pass through freely into a secondary absorbent dressing, reducing the risk of skin maceration.
  • Moist Healing Environment: Helps keep the wound bed moist, which is essential for the migration of new skin cells and overall recovery.

Indications:

  • Used for the prevention and treatment of infection in minor burns and scalds.
  • Ideal for skin loss wounds, including lacerations, abrasions, and pressure sores.
  • Commonly used for donor and recipient skin graft sites.
  • Suitable for post-operative surgical wounds.
